Robot for sanding and polishing: same surface quality without dust for people
Each product is processed uniformly – without "rough spots" and under-polishing.
Dust, noise, and vibration are borne by the robot, not the worker.
Wood, metal, stone, plastic, and composites – the right tool is selected for the task.
Robot, spindle, force compensator, program, and start.
01 Who is this offer for?
For production managers and technicians who manually grind, deburr, or polish products: furniture parts, castings, welds, stone.
Manual grinding is a dusty, noisy, and strenuous job: it is difficult to find people for this, and the result depends on the worker's skill and fatigue. The robot maintains a consistent level of force on each product.
02 Why is this beneficial for the factory?
Consistent material removal and surface roughness throughout the batch.
Less dust, noise, and vibration – fewer occupational illnesses.
The robot operates continuously and at the same speed throughout the shift.
Even pressure reduces wear on discs and belts.
Dust-related tasks are difficult for humans to manage – the robot handles them throughout the shift.
We can calculate costs in advance: labor, abrasive material, defects, and rework. The calculation is free.
03How a Grinding Cell Works
The product arrives on a table, conveyor, or the robot picks it up itself.
The camera determines the product's position if necessary.
The robot guides the tool along a specific path; the compensator maintains a constant pressure.
Different discs or belts are used for rough and finishing operations.
The finished product moves further, and dust is removed by aspiration.
04 What does the robot grind and polish?
We define the tool's trajectory by specifying points and verify it on a 3D model within Robot1 before starting the operation.
| Task | What the robot provides |
|---|---|
| Furniture parts and doors | Consistent surface roughness for painting and varnishing. |
| Deburring | Smooth edges without burrs on each part of the series. |
| Welded seams and castings | Cleaning of seams and molds without manual labor. |
| Stone and metal | Polishing to a uniform shine. |
05 Which robots do we work with?
Six-axis industrial robots with a good balance of price and performance offer a quick return on investment. Our Robot1 program allows you to control them from a computer.
Collaborative robots with built-in cameras – when humans and robots work side-by-side in a limited space.
We select a robot based on the weight of the product, reach, cycle time, and budget. We develop the program and communication with the equipment specifically for the chosen robot.
06 First, on the digital twin
Before purchasing the robot, we set up your equipment, the robot, containers, and product placement on a 3D model within the Robot1 program. This allows you to see if the robot reaches every point, how long the cycle takes, and how many products it will process per shift. You make decisions based on the data, not just visual inspection.
07 How to Calculate the Benefits for Your Property
- How many people are employed in polishing, and what is the cost per hour including taxes;
- How much abrasive material is used per month;
- How many parts are scrapped due to uneven surfaces;
- What is the cost of the cell: robot, spindle, compensator, aspiration, start-up.
The payback period is the cost of the cell, divided by the annual savings and additional output. Please provide the data – we will calculate it for free.
08 How to get started
Please send a video of the work area, photos, or drawings of the product, and the desired production rate.
We will propose a cell layout, robot, and equipment, specify the timeline and cost.
We will demonstrate the cell on a digital twin and calculate the cycle time.
Delivery, installation, programming, startup, and training for your employees.
We will come to your site and demonstrate the robot on our stand in Minsk. The use of robots may be eligible for tax benefits under Decree No. 198 – more details can be found on the page “Robotization of Production in Belarus”.
